ESCFS 2022

The European Society of Craniofacial Surgery (ESCFS) is constituted by most of the different medical teams performing craniofacial surgery in Europe. Each team typically is headed by a craniofacial surgeon (plastic, maxillofacial or neurosurgeon) and usually further includes pediatric anesthesiologists, facial specialists (such as orthodontist, ophthalmologist, ENT), and also geneticist and psychologist. This multidisciplinary approach is a fundamental requirement to be able to adequately treat the complex congenital craniofacial malformations, as well as patients with facial trauma and tumors.

Since the creation of the leasing International Society of Craniofacial Surgery (ISCFS), the European Society of Craniofacial Surgery (ESCFS) represents the European regional branch of ISCFS.

Fundamentally the core purpose of the ESCFS is identical to the one of the ISCFS: i.e. "to promote and foster the best multidisciplinary surgical treatment to the facially deformed."

The council is constituted by a president and a secretary-general, both elected.

The ESCFS organises biannual meetings to which all the relevant members are invited, where the latest techniques and developments are discussed and evaluated. In this way state of the art treatment is spread all over Europe.
